Apollo

Performed by students at the Morris County School of Technology at the Dragonetti Theater

I was given the opportunity to choreograph a piece with my good friend Samantha Frio. We wished to create a piece that embodied the feeling of weightlessness astronauts experience as they are floating through space. The movements and formations portrayed images, such as stars, that showed our piece’s relation to space. Lifts and suspensions created an anti-gravity quality that was present throughout the whole dance.

Eve of Destruction

This was the first piece I ever choreographed, and I was able to do it in collaboration with the very talented Izzabella Coppolino. This dance was made to show the extreme struggle, strategy, and power that are associated with war. There are two groups of dancers on stage that encircle, intimidate, and interact with each other as if they were in battle. The use of partnering and lifts show the physical fighting between the dancers, and also represent displays of dominance over one another. This piece is very intense from both the audience and the dancers. 

Broken Hearts

In this dance film, Phoebe and I wanted to capture the essence of what the singer is saying. We were both inspired and intrigued by Billie Ellish's musical style and wanted to experiment with different movement techniques. There is no direct storyline for this film, however, the general theme for this film is that "not all loved ones you set free come back." The song's lyrics mention missing someone but in a bitter tone. We believe this fil embodied
